Local Drivers at Stafford Speedway This Year

Nascar season is in full swing and racing at Stafford Motor Speedway is right around the corner. I’m excited about the coming season at our local track. There are many entries already on the Stafford Speedway website, and I’m sure many more to come. The SK modifieds have over 40 entries in what looks to be one of the most competitive fields ever.
Last year saw Stafford’s own Ryan Posocco win yet another track championship in the Late Model division and Woody Pitkat nail down 7 feature wins between the Late Model and SK modified divisions. Young guns Kyle and Cory Casagrande each had multiple feature wins in their divisions as well. We will also hear from Michael Bennett who was a regular contribuor to the show last year. Here’s the current list of Stafford drivers who will be competing this year:

The excitement started Friday night at Stafford Motor Speedway when Kyle Casagrande took home his fourth win of the season in the Dare Stock feature. He worked his way through field as he started 10th. Also, 5-time Late Model series champion Ryan Posocco passed fellow Staffordite Woody Pitkat to pick up his first win of the season. Ryan is currently in first place in this years’ standings as well.
Not only did Woody finish second in the Late-Model race Friday night but he picked up a tenth place finish Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in the Whelan Modified Tour race. It was a great top ten finish as Woody picked off car after car after starting 22nd. Also in New Hampshire, Charles Lewandoski finished 22nd in the Nationwide Series race. It was an impressive finish for the rookie driver in a race won by NASCAR great Kyle Busch.
